Home Security & Entry
We are currently finishing up a major renovation on our house and it is finally time to pick out the exterior doors. I am really torn between going with something classic like wood or moving toward a more modern steel option for better durability. Does anyone have experience with how different materials hold up over several seasons, especially regarding insulation and warping? I’d love some honest feedback before we commit to a supplier.

Honestly, it really depends on your local climate, but I’ve found that steel or high-quality composite usually wins for longevity. If you are looking for specific styles, checking out options at https://markodoor.com/ might give you a better idea of what fits your home’s aesthetic without sacrificing security. We went with a reinforced model last year and the difference in draft reduction was actually pretty noticeable. Just make sure you double-check the frame measurements before ordering!
