Amount of Water you Should Drink Daily

Drinking enough water is required for your body to function in general. Drinking the right amount of water daily delivers important nutrients to all of our cells, especially muscle cells, postponing muscle fatigue.

The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men and about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.


Other experts also suggest the 8x8 rule. It means drinking 8 glasses of water a day which is equal to about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is mostly recommended by experts because it is easy to remember.


There are different opinions on how much water you should intake daily but the bottom line for this is that we need to drink water. Whether you’ll follow the 8x8 rule or you’ll go to 3.7 or 2.7 liters of water daily. It’s up to you because it depends on what your body needs.
